Four seasons at Kedleston Park, and the Pedley four ride it out
106 players, sunshine and hail in the same afternoon, and immaculate greens at Kedleston Park.
Kedleston Park served up the full English: sunshine, rain showers, hail stones, the lot. The 106 players who took it on forgave the weather for the immaculate greens, the welcome, and pre-round sausage sandwiches that were judged best in show.
Derek Pedley, Terry Pedley, Martin Davis and Kevin Cooper came through it best on 88 points, a single point ahead of Mark Anslow's team. A strong contingent had travelled down from Sicklehome Golf Club, among them their greenkeeper Oliver Smith, who walked off with the best gross of the day, a 66, the nearest the pin, and a share of the twos pool.
