A record turnout at Hollinwell, and Kendrick’s team come out on top
132 players, the biggest one-day field Tee Tours has ever had, on one of England’s great inland courses.
Hollinwell gave us our biggest day yet: 132 players out on one of the finest inland courses in the country, caught at exactly the right time of year before the rough has grown up, and the whole day bathed in sunshine.
Scott Kendrick, Robin Keates, Carl Vaughan and Matthew Pennell took it on 89 points, a single point clear of Craig Hall's team and Colin Dixon's four, who tied on 88. Carl Vaughan capped a fine day with the best gross, a 73 around a track that can easily wreck a card.
A club with a long and not always welcoming history, Hollinwell these days is a friendly, egalitarian place, and it could not have shown itself off better.
